R Day

R day breakfast was raisin toast.
Our FAVORITE R is Reece!  For 'his' day he wanted to go to the river.  So, we got our rods and reels and spent the day at the river.
The fish weren't biting very much today, but Aaron did catch one little rainbow trout!
Clara spent her time carrying rocks around and throwing them in the river.
We had roast beef sandwiches for lunch.
We even saw a row of geese.
It was SO pretty down where we were today!  We haven't gone to this particular place before, but we will definitely be going back.
After lunch we all just lounged around on the quilt and enjoyed our shady spot.  Here's my view looking up:
And my view to the side:
For supper we had roast, carrots, potatoes, and rolls!  Yumm!

Scroll down to the next post to see what I made while we were at the river today.  I have a new favorite project. :)

Collages

Remember all the collages I made from our 4th of July weekend?  Well, Grandma sent the food collage to El Pinto (our FAVORITE salsa compay).  They posted the collage on their twitter page today!  We are soaking up our 15 minutes of fame!  Wouldn't you know, of all the things to make ME famous, it would be SALSA! :)

Speaking of collages, I took some pictures of trees, branches, stumps, etc. today when we were at the river and made this.   Wouldn't something like this make a cool framed gift.  Or the letters of a child's name for their room?  Hmm..I might have a new project! :)

Isnt' it amazing what we can see if we look close enough?!?!

Q Day

For Q day we had a quiet lunch on our quilt.
(yes, we were still wearing PJ's at lunch time...we had a lazy Q day)
Then this afternoon we made Quick Quaker cookies.  (aka oatmeal raisin cookies)
I think Quick Quaker Cookies has a much better ring to it than oatmeal raisin...Reece and I might be on to something here! :)
This evening we gave everyone in our family some of our cookies!
Q day was pretty hard to think of fun things to do, but just wait 'til tomorrow!  Reece is SO excited...it's HIS day!  R day is tomorrow!  He has been looking forward to this since the beginning of summer! :)

4th of July Weekend

We had a great 4th of July weekend!

On Saturday we watched the Independence Eve fireworks from our roof!
On Sunday, the fourth, we had a cookout at Grandma and Grandpa's house...Here's the story:)

The people...
The spread...seriously!  We ate ALL of that!
The sparklers...
The decorations....
And just for fun, here are some pictures from the 4th of July this year compared to the 4th of July last year!  Oh my!

P Day

We spread P day out over a couple of days...
First, we made a pallet on the floor and watched Peter Pan and ate popcorn.
(blurry phone picture...sorry!)
We went to Pizza Hut with Aunt Pammy
and Papa...
We had pepperoni pizza!
The next evening, Reece had a party to go to.  It was his best buddy James' birthday.
On the way home we stopped at the lake and took pictures of the pretty sky.
The next day we walked down a pretty path,
fished with our poles,
and had a picnic with PBJ and potato chips.
Clara loved throwing rocks in the water.
Such a pretty place!
Do you think Clara is telling her Daddy secrets?
See..it really is the perfect place for us! :)
Finally, tonight we made our own pizza!

What Makes Me Smile?

No worries...we haven't forgotten our ABC summer.  We had so many "P" activities, we are spreading them out over a couple of days.

In the meantime, I had a few pictures I wanted to put on here.  It really doesn't take much to make me happy.  Here are some pictures of things that have made me SMILE over the last week.:)

We had M&M's for M day and I poured our leftovers into this old jar that I got at an antique store.  Now I have a colorful decoration for our kitchen! :)  I think I'm gonna keep it filled up with fun things all year. :)
This girl cracks me up!  The last 3 times I have been folding laundry, she goes over to Reece's pile and gets one of his shirts and tries to put it on.  The last time, she was trying to put it over her head and was saying, "we wit" (wear it).  So I put it on and she was SO proud!  She ran around for a couple hours with her brother's shirt on! :)
This little girl REFUSES to let her momma clip her finger nails, but she will sit perfectly still for her Daddy!:)
I love seeing this...Clara randomly rubbing Reece's back. :)
A sandwich with FRESH SUMMER tomatoes!  Then taking the rest of the tomato and pouring salt on it and eating it like an apple! :)
My FAVORITE!  When I got home from the lake and looked at our pictures on the computer, I ran across this one that made me smile.  This is the first time Reece jumped off the top of the pontoon.  The thing I love most about it is Aaron up in the corner...SO proud and cheering for Reece! Love it! :)
