Snowy Walk

Reece and I went for a snowy walk today. We walked all over the yard and a little way down the four wheeler trail. We took pictures of all kinds of animal tracks. We saw deer tracks, bunny tracks, squirrel tracks, and Reece was pretty convinced we saw an ELK track too! :) He loved showing daddy the pictures of all the tracks when we got back. He made Aaron guess what all the tracks were. He said it's a new game called "name that track!" He's so funny! Here are some pictures from our winter walk...

I think this last picture might need to go in a frame in our house...I LOVE it!

Lots and lots of snow!

Thursday night it began snowing and snowed all day yesterday. We have about 9 or 10 inches! I am so glad that my job allows me to stay at home with my kids on snow days! I love snow days!

Of course Reece rode his four wheeler!

Then Clara was watching Reece play in the snow on the back porch. He started throwing snowballs at her through the window. She was cracking up! It was so funny!

She adores Reece. He is such a good big brother!

Yesterday I made another thing for Clara's birthday party. I had to find 3 boxes that were proportionate to each other to make a "cake." It's going to have cupcakes stacked on it. When I was trying to figure out which boxes worked the best together, Clara started climbing all over the boxes. I'm telling you, this girl has no fear! She would climb up on them and climb from one to the other. She was so proud of herself!

And here's the final product...boxes from the garage and school, wrapped in pink paper and some ribbon... I'll stack cupcakes on it and we'll have a cupcake tower!

A Little Party Prep

I LOVE parties! I have always loved getting Reece's birthday parties together. All the cute little details are so fun for me. I have loved all of Reece's boy-theme parties-baseball, fourwheelers, motorcycles, construction, farm. Now, I am so excited to throw a totally frilly, girlie, pink party! I think Clara's first birthday is gonna be so cute! Here are a couple of things I made this weekend...just a little sneak peak...lots more to come!

We are having cupcakes for Clara's party. I got a cupcake decorating kit yesterday and had to try it out. I just played around making some fun designs. The D is for daddy, M for momma, C for Clara and R for Reece. I even gave Clara a little taste and her world changed forever!:)

Here's Clara's party dress...I used material from my maternity shirts that I wore when I was pregnant with her. I think it turned out pretty cute :)

We had to play dress-up and try it on.

Clara officially figured out how to walk on Friday night! She was so proud! She's getting better and better!
I think she likes it!

And party favors...footprint magnets...I made these for Reece's first birthday with a blue footprint. Here are Clara's sweet pink footprints...I just love them!

Picking My Battles

Reece is not a morning person. Most mornings it is very difficult to get him up, dressed and out the door in a good mood and on time. He is fine once he gets going, but it's just getting him to get going that can be difficult. Well this morning, he woke up earlier than usual. He watched TV for a little bit, then, when I was getting ready, he went and picked out his own clothes and was so proud that he was dressed and ready to go! I was so proud of him too, but I had to smile when I saw his mismatched outfit. Green wind pants, a blue long sleeved t-shirt, a black leather jacket, and a camo hat turned backwards. I wasn't about to change a thing about his outfit-if there is one thing I've learned about being a momma-it's "pick your battles!" He was ready to go and in a good mood! I'll take whatever outfit he puts on! I LOVE this boy!

And just because....here are 2 pictures I took of Clara during the bitter cold snow days we had last week. She kept crawling to the door and standing up and looking out the window. I think she had forgotten what it was like to go outdoors. We were in our house for so long and didn't step foot outside! We have some beautiful weather this week, though!

Sweet, sweet girl!

A Few Stories

Another day at home with my babies:). It was so cold all day...around 0 with the wind chill! We stayed inside all day! Reece didn't even go outside to play at all. We don't have school tomorrow either, and I am so glad I don't have to drag Reece and Clara out in this weather!

I thought these pictures of Clara were so sweet! She just loves sitting and looking at books. She turns each page and opens the flaps. I think these little books are her favorite toys right now. They definitely keep her attention longer than anything else!

She even goes over to Reece's books and gets into those....

Tucker is usually an outside dog, but since it has been so cold, we have let him hang out inside with us. I think he is hoping it will stay 0 degrees forever! This evening I was cleaning up the kitchen and I peeked in the living room and saw this....(awww)

This is so funny! Clara has been standing up very well lately. She is usually very careful to hold on to something to keep her balance. Every once in a while she will let go, then quickly grab back on. Well, tonight, she realized she wasn't holding on and would clap for herself and squeal. Then, she would look at her hands in amazement like, "Oh my goodness...they aren't touching anything...I'm standing ALONE!" These pictures crack me up!

She's so funny!

Stickers and the BEST dessert EVER

I'm really trying hard to not only take pictures of the important events and occasions in our lives, but also just the plain old everyday stuff, no matter how small it may seem. The everyday stuff is what I love and enjoy so much.

We had another snow day today! I am loving these snow days! We have another day off tomorrow. We might have to go to school until July to make up all these days, but for now, I'm loving them!

Today, Reece had such a good time using his John Deere sticker book. He sat and worked in it for a long time.
After supper, we made smores for dessert. Reece said it was the best dessert he ever had! He's easy to please! :)

I had a video of Clara to put on here, but it would not load! She has a little toy that you push and walk behind. I just got it out for the first time today, and she was doing so good walking behind it. She could walk all the way across the living room with it! She was so proud!

11 months, Cornbread, and Towels

Clara is 11 months old today! Sweet, sweet girl...I cannot believe that in one month she will be 1 year old!

I had to go back to work for in-service today. It was so cold! I think Clara was wondering why she had so many layers on. She could barely move!
Tonight we had ham/beans and cornbread. I gave Clara cornbread for the first time. I gave her a whole piece. She loved it and nearly ate the whole thing. Can you tell by these pictures that she was loving it???

She had the rosiest cheeks tonight!
After supper, Reece and Aaron had a towel fight! Reece was laughing so hard. It was so funny! Clara kept trying to get in the middle of the action, but I don't think she can hang with these crazy guys quite yet!

Snow Day!

I was supposed to go back to school today for teacher in-service but it got cancelled because of the snow! So, I got an extra day of break! Here are a few pictures from our snow day:

This one's for Grandma-Reece had to have 4 slices of bacon with his cereal. I usually get regular bacon, but this time I got the thick cut bacon. When I gave it to Reece he said, "Now this is like Grandma's bacon!" And it cracks me up how Tucker is staring in the window-wishing he could have some too!

Aaron had to go out to a job site, so I was home with the kiddos. It was too cold for Clara to stay out long, but Reece wanted to stay out for a while longer. It was so cute-Tucker followed him around everywhere. He was watching over him :)

I love this picture. Not sure why? I just think it is so sweet.

Clara and I went out for a few minutes and I pulled them around on the sled. I wish I could have gotten a good picture, but Clara would NOT look at me. She would not take her eyes off the snow. She didn't know what to think about all the white stuff!
